Copyright Registration

We have all heard this word copyright that gives a person the sole authority to use a piece of work in any form. The owner may also permit others to use the work either by copying or reproducing his or her work. The work may be related to anything, be it an art, movie, book, music, software and much more. Copyright registration is important to protect the exclusive rights over a work created by the creator. Copyright can, however, be transferred from one person to another.

Copyright registration is of utmost importance to take legal actions if any dispute occurs.

Documents for the registration

  • Documents supporting the name, address, and nationality of the applicant.
  • Document that tells about the nature of the applicant’s copyright interest (either an owner or a representative)
  • Description of the work
  • Title of the work
  • Language of the work
  • The date of publication if the work has already been published

How we help

Once you have applied for copyright registration, you need to know that it will take a turnaround of 12 months for the completion of the process.

We start with getting the necessary details from you. To start with, we also need to get 3 copies of the original content in the form of CD. The application will be prepared and sent to the Registrar of Copyrights by e-mail. Once the process is complete, you get a diary number. There might be a few verifications to check the authenticity. If there arises any error from your end, a penalty of Rs 1500 will be charged to proceed further.

Our experts will be in constant touch with you about the status of the application.
